Now if anyone was to try to go to the wyrmrestaccord.net forums, you will be greeted with this message:

BRB, changes

Dear Wyrmrest Accordians,

It has been a great year with all of you being supportive of WrA.Net's revival. However, due to time constraint issues, real life work and detachment from WoW, I feel that I am no longer suited to be WrA.net's admin and hence, will be stepping down and letting a more esteemed admin to take over WrA.Net.

Please be rest assured all your data is intact, we will continue putting up the archive site for back up and handing over the server files to the new admin to continue WrANet.

Thank you all for the support and I wish you all the best, WrAnetters!

Best Regards,
Evanlysis

-----------------------------------

After a combination of hasty action and careful consideration, I've arrived at the decision that I can no longer continue to host and maintain WyrmrestAccord.net. Due to changes since I initially started working on WrA.net nearly 18 months ago, the amount of time invested in maintaining WrA.net and the amount of stress involved in hosting has become too much. Beyond this, neither myself nor my friends currently make use of WrA.net meaning, regrettably, my investment in the site isn't really where it should be to work long-term on such a project.

The current plan is for the site to be handed over to a few interested individuals (consisting of former and current site staff) with a vested interest in seeing it run in the long term, which will involve little-to-no data loss or major changes to the site -- just some downtime while the transfer is done. In what I suppose is a very appropriate turn of events, this will finally fulfil what I'd originally joined the project to do: clean up the site code, make it light and speedy, and hand it over to those who wished to administer and maintain it for the long haul.

I suppose the only real way to end this is with a reference quote. So long, and thanks for all the fish.

As I hear more on what is going down and who might/will be taking over, I'll update everyone on here.

Well, I have to say. I've actually gained some respect for Blizzard back tonight.

To those that haven't checked MMO-Champion recently, there is a ton of info regarding content patch 4.3 currently as well as a note about patch 4.4 and beyond.

The following is a quick-ish summary of all of it as well as my opinions and questions to the group:

Patch 4.3
With patch 4.3, we will be receiving 3 new instances. The new 5 man dungeons will help to introduce the Deathwing Raid, which is also releasing in this patch. One of the instance, this one I am most excited about, will be in the Caverns of Time, for the War of the Ancients.

The current plan with the Deathwing raid is to have it all available immediately upon release. The Deathwing raid will be smaller than Ulduar with many phases or encounters with Deathwing. Currently they are saying that you will even get to ride on Deathwing's back during the fight, apparently to take him down over multiple phases. Sounds fun to me.

RealID LFD grouping was originally going to be paid because of the similarity to Paid Character Transfers, but they decided it was the right thing for the game to offer it for free. Thank god! Cross realm RealID grouping is going to be expanded to cover Battlegrounds as well. Depending on how well that works it could be expanded to raids and rated battlegrounds. The Raid Finder will be introduced in Patch 4.3, it will work like the Dungeon Finder. The shared 10 and 25 man lockout has had both positive and negative effects, it solved the need to do both every week but removed some extra content that could be done every week. They are saying that some changes will be made in the future to make everyone happier with the solution.

Unlike D3, a real money Auction House is not planned for WoW. Armor dyes are unlikely to be included in the game, but mount customization is a possibility. Class Quests are unlikely to return due to the amount of time it takes to design and implement them... Lame.

And apparently, there will be a new Darkmoon Faire island added with a bunch of new activities such as "Whack-a-Gnoll".

Transmogrification
After much player begging, Blizzard will be adding a way for the players to change the appearance of their armor to other armor looks, copying the appearance of one magical item onto another. Visiting a Transmogrifier will present players with a new interface that will allow them to change the appearance of an item while retaining its original stats. This means that you can raid in your paladin tier 12 Immolation set, but look like you’re wearing Lightbringer, while priests can bring Benediction back -- at least in spirit. Hunters can once again roam the jungles of Stranglethorn Vale in their tier 2 Dragonstalker set. You could even slip into the saucy tailored Black Mageweave set for that matter. You know, with the thigh highs, and the little gloves, and the cute little… ahem. This all in all, in my opinion, will be heaven sent for RPers like those on my home server of Wyrmrest Accord.

Now, thankfully in my opinion as well, has limitations. You will not be able to transmogrify using a legendary item as either the source or the recipient of a change, at least at the initial release. I agree with this most of all in the whole transmogrification discussion. Seriously, who would want to walk around seeing everyone with either Thunderfury or every Rogue with the Twin Glaves? Or better yet... Every Rogue with the Twin Glaves and that one blindfold? Hell no.

You must own the item, have it in your possession and be able to wear or use it at the time of transmogrification. Again, something I fully agree with and without this statement I honestly wouldn't see the point to transmogrification. Some people worked long and hard to earn the gear they have tucked away in their banks. As I saw in a post on the battle.net forums about this, to those lucky people that still have their old Naxx40 gear (IE Tier 3), lucky bastards.

Mainhand can only be applied to mainhand, and offhand can only be applied to offhand. This is partially due to the restrictions on certain types of weapon art and honestly makes sense.

Void Storage
The main requirement for an item to eligible for Void Storage is that it's soulbound. Void Storage vaults will be per character, not per account. They are still very interested in providing a way for players to share BoA items cross-realm, but there are a number of technological milestones they need to reach before they can make that kind of service available unfortunately. The prices for unlocking a Void Storage vault, depositing items, and withdrawing items are still under discussion, though, the current guess is between 500g-1000g. You don't need to place an item in Void Storage in order to use it for Transmogrification. Anything stored there will lose all gems and enchantments. The systems are completely separate. They're designed to complement one another, but not require each other. And one of the best parts about this, my opinion, is that most tabards will be eligible for Void Storage. One less thing in my normal bank.

Patch 4.4
Seems that Blizzard realized that Cata was a terrible failure.

Patch 4.4 will bring a world event before the next expansion. The next expansion should be released with a "meaningful difference" in the release timeline compared to previous expansions. My money is betting that it'll be out in June 2012 instead of November.

Now for your thoughts on this.
:D
“May you never forget what is worth remembering, nor ever remember what is best forgotten”

OH MY GOD, lots of new changes to the game today. I don't even know if I can fit all the bad ass info on here within reason. Guess first off, one major change we will be noticing over all with the guild is that our dearly loved trees now have to suffer with a 5min cooldown to flex those branches. Stupid in my opinion. I understand that tons of changes are going to be made with Cata, but come on... Save the trees! Aren't we going green here in the US anyway? Blizz just "killed" a few million tress today, think about it. Long live the twist!

All the classes are under going major changes, so, looks like several hours of setting aside of bit of time to test out the new talents and talent trees. I highly recommend reading up on MMO-Champ about your class/role regarding the changes. I also recommend checking out WoWPopular.com for some of the thoughts on what might be the "good" specs for the coming talent trees. But, to each their own on how they want to go about it.

I personally hope that the changes are all for the good, namely, not a major WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING BLIZZARD nerf. But only time will tell on that one. Right now, hard to say from not playing with it much. Though, I do think the idea that Hunters not having to deal with ammo and arrows EVER AGAIN is very nice. Same goes for Rogues getting a self heal. Very nice.

Blood spec DK tanks? One of those things that is a wait and see for me.

Though, I would love to hear what you all think on the class changes. Good? Bad? The hell Blizz?
Hey there!

I'm so happy with how this little side project has taken off. I can't believe the turn out of the artists from the RP server forums in here now. It's so wonderful popping on here each day (or some variation of that) and seeing everyone's beautiful work. I wish I could have all the artists from our server in here, but that's a slowly working matter.

As far as the art turn out, don't be afraid to submit your work guys! I feel a bit pushy when I go look through you all's galleries and submit it myself. I'd rather see you all want to have others check it out. I mean, hell, several of our watchers are from other servers as well as just from here on DeviantArt. Fans don't bite!

I guess as a final thing to note here for now, I'm more then willing to listen to suggestions or anything of the like to help better this group here. From either opening up the number of submits you can do per day to other things like that. Just let me know!

You all rock!
